Bathroom Remodel in Middletown

The Challenge

This bathroom had good bones—but the layout was working against it.

  • The full-size vanity and glass shower doors visually and physically crowded the room

  • Fixtures and finishes felt dated and heavy for the size of the space

  • The existing subway tile tub surround lacked depth and character

The goal was to open up the room, modernize the design, and make it more livable—without expanding the footprint.

The Plan

We focused on reclaiming space and updating the aesthetic with smarter, lighter design choices:

  • Reduced the vanity to half its original size to free up floor space and improve flow

  • Removed glass shower doors and installed the homeowner’s custom fabric shower curtain for a softer, more flexible look

  • Fresh paint color to brighten and modernize the room

  • Demolished the existing subway tile and tub surround

  • Installed a new tiled wall system designed to add depth, texture, and visual interest

Every decision was made with function first, then style.

The Build — Key Craft Details

  • Careful demolition to protect surrounding finishes

  • Precise layout and installation of the new tile to ensure clean lines and long-term durability

  • Tight tolerances around plumbing fixtures for a polished, intentional finish

  • Clean transitions between materials for a seamless, upgraded look

This was a small space that demanded big attention to detail.

The Result — Everyday Benefits

  • The bathroom feels noticeably larger and less cramped

  • Easier movement and better usability in daily routines

  • A lighter, more modern look that won’t feel dated anytime soon

  • A design that reflects the homeowner’s personal style—not a cookie-cutter renovation

Sometimes, less really is more.
